Coretura is the joint venture launched by Volvo Group and Daimler Truck to build the digital core of the commercial vehicle of the future – a standardized and open Software-Defined Vehicle platform and a dedicated truck operating system. The Role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join Coretura in Gothenburg as the second hire in our legal team, working directly with our General Counsel to build the legal and compliance function from the ground up.

This is not a role where legal reviews decisions after they are made. You will be in the room, in customer meetings, supplier negotiations, and product discussions. Expect to build the legal foundation of a scaling company, shape the playbooks, templates, and ways of working that come with it, and do it all with a business-first mindset.

Building the Commercial Contract Foundation Lead hands-on contract work across the business, negotiating and drafting agreements with suppliers, partners, and customers. Build a template library covering procurement to sales, practical enough for engineers and commercial colleagues to use without always needing a lawyer in the room.

Drive Compliance Across the Regulatory Landscape own compliance across several domains such as GDPR, the AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, the Data Act, export control, and competition law. Translate requirements into concrete guidance teams can act on, and partner with product and engineering on compliance-by-design so regulation becomes a product feature rather than a last-minute blocker.

Protect Coretura's Intellectual Property Define how we protect our intellectual assets, such as trademarks and trade secrets.

Build Legal Capability Across the Organisation deliver practical legal training , IP, NDAs, competition law, corporate law, and the regulatory areas most relevant to each team, so engineers and commercial colleagues make better decisions independently.

Support Governance and Strategic Matters Work with the General Counsel on investor, board, and parent-company matters as needed, and contribute to building the governance structures the company needs as it scales.

What We Are Looking For

You are a curious, pragmatic generalist with strong personal integrity who is energised by working shoulder to shoulder with engineers and commercial colleagues, and who finds genuine satisfaction in turning complex regulation into something a business can actually use.

A pre requisite is a swedish law degree and several years at a law firm or inhouse counsel, with a strong generalist toolkit and real fluency in commercial contracts.

You have genuine interest in, and ideally hands-on experience with, digital regulation such as: GDPR, the AI Act, the Data Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, or open source licensing. You do not need to be a specialist in all of them, but curious enough to become fluent quickly and pragmatic enough to turn it into guidance people can use.

You are energized by being embedded in the business, and as comfortable in a technical discussion as in a commercial negotiation, or willing to become so.
