Release Quality Engineering
Own the customer-facing quality of Coretura’s SDVP: ensure every release is trustworthy, safe, and fast with automated testing and Canary CI.
Coretura is a product company. That distinction matters more than it might seem.
In most of the automotive industry, software is developed in projects, coped, delivered, and handed off. At Coretura, we build and continuously evolve a single Software Defined Vehicle Platform delivered to multiple vehicle manufacturers. There is no handoff. There is no end state. The platform ships to customers like Volvo and Daimler today, and it gets better tomorrow, and the day after that.
Quality is not a gate at the end of a project. It is a permanent property of a living product. Every release builds on the last one. Every change is an update to something customers are already running. The responsibility to not break what exists, while continuously making it better, never goes away.
We are hiring for the person who owns that responsibility on behalf of the customer.
The Purpose
We need someone whose primary lens is the customer experience of our delivery pipeline, not as a gatekeeper in a traditional sense, but as the internal voice that continuously asks: would a customer trust this release? Would it break something they depend on? Is the quality of this change consistent with the quality of the platform they signed up for?
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, customer delivery, and product quality. It requires technical depth, customer empathy, and the confidence to hold the line when something is not ready, regardless of schedule pressure.
The Core of the Work
The most concrete expression of this role is ownership of our Customer Zero environment, a canary setup that mirrors real customer configurations and receives every change before it reaches production. Customer Zero is where we find out if something is wrong before a customer does. Defining what that environment validates, what constitutes a pass, and what triggers a stop is a significant and ongoing engineering responsibility.
Equally important is the constraint: quality improvements must not add lead time. Every test strategy decision is also a delivery efficiency decision. This means investing in parallelization, caching, and AI-assisted test generation and execution, using automation not just to cover more ground, but to cover it faster. The goal is a quality bar that rises continuously without slowing the pipeline that delivers to customers.
Beyond Customer Zero, the role covers automated test coverage in CI, the integrity of the release and signing pipeline, and the feedback loop between customer-reported issues and root causes in the codebase.
What This Demands
This is not a scope for someone who wants fixed deliverables handed to them. It is for someone who sees a product and its customers and can work backwards from there to define what quality means, and then build it.
Hands-on experience with continuous delivery and test automation in a complex platform environment
Experience applying AI-assisted testing tools and techniques, you know where they add genuine value and where they do not
A strong intuition for test efficiency: parallelization, smart test selection, caching, and keeping quality improvements off the critical path
Comfort with safety-critical or regulated software development is a strong advantage
The maturity to treat quality not as a function you perform, but as a product property you are responsible for
Why Coretura
We are building something that does not exist yet in the automotive industry the way we are building it, a continuously delivered, multi-customer, single-product software platform for vehicles. The quality engineering discipline needed to do that at scale is genuinely unsolved. This is the opportunity to define it.
The platform gets better every day. You are part of why.
