About Coretura Coretura builds the Software Defined Vehicle Platform, one continuously evolving platform delivered to multiple OEM customers including Volvo and Daimler. We are a product company: one platform, many customers, shipped continuously. Data flowing back from what we build drives every product decision, and data services represent a significant future revenue opportunity with our OEM customers.

The Role We are hiring a Principal Data Architect to own data management strategy across Coretura. This is a senior individual-contributor role with company-wide architectural influence, sitting within platform engineering but setting standards that every team depends on. You will define how data is owned, managed, and consumed across the organization, enabling engineering teams to work with data effectively and independently.

What You Will Own

• Data platform strategy: storage tiers, ingestion architecture, and the operating model for data ownership across engineering

• Architecture decisions on data mesh, data lake, and lakehouse patterns; graph databases for traceability

• Hot/cold storage strategy for ADAS and perception data (high volume, heterogeneous, not a future problem)

• Data management fundamentals: metadata, discovery, lifecycle, privacy, and per-customer isolation

• Safety evidence infrastructure supporting ISO 26262 provenance requirements

• Cloud cost attribution per team, per customer, and per pipeline

What We Are Looking For

• Deep experience with large-scale data platforms, strong opinions on when data mesh, lake, or lakehouse applies

• Experience with high-volume sensor and video streams and the storage strategies that make them tractable

• Cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS: storage tiers, streaming ingestion, cost and retention design

• Data governance mindset: access controls, tenant isolation, lifecycle policies, privacy

• Strategic: you set direction and bring teams along without becoming a bottleneck

• Automotive or embedded systems experience is a plus

Why This Matters Getting the foundation right determines whether the platform scales to ADAS data volumes, whether OEM customers can be offered data services on top, and whether the safety evidence Coretura is legally required to retain is findable when needed.
