About the Role
Coretura is building the Software Defined Vehicle Platform (SDVP) for commercial vehicles — a foundation that connects operating system technology, cloud services, and deep vehicle integration into one coherent product. It’s ambitious, technical, and built for real‑world impact.
We are hiring a Head of Platform to lead the teams responsible for the platform’s technical direction, operational run‑rate, and cross‑organisational execution. This is a leadership role focused on people, processes, and bringing product and platform strategy together so our platform scales reliably and predictably.
You will work closely with lab leads, engineering managers, product, and operations to create clarity, remove friction, and ensure the platform evolves in line with our product and business priorities. You do not need to be the deepest hands‑on technical expert — the technical leads provide day‑to‑day engineering ownership; your role is to provide direction, structure, and the conditions for teams to succeed.
What you will do
As Head of Platform you will set the vision and operating model for the platform organisation and ensure we deliver robust, maintainable, and scalable platform capabilities.
You will:
· Define and communicate a clear platform strategy that aligns with product and business goals.
· Lead and grow a multi‑disciplinary platform organisation — managers, senior engineers, and specialists.
· Create and maintain ways of working, prioritisation frameworks, and service level expectations for platform teams.
· Partner with technical lab leads to translate strategy into execution, giving mandate, priorities, and support while trusting their technical judgement.
· Represent the platform organisation in cross‑functional forums and with external partners or customers when required.
· Drive reliability, observability, and operational excellence across platform services and infrastructure.
· Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
· Improve planning, budgeting, and forecasting for platform investments alongside Product and Finance.
· Coach and mentor leaders to create high‑performing teams and sustainable ways of working.
Who You Are
You are a supportive, pragmatic leader who creates clarity from complexity. You care about people and outcomes, and you influence through trust, structure, and clear communication.
You likely have:
· Significant experience leading platform, infrastructure, middleware, or system teams in a product‑focused environment.
· A track record of building teams, developing managers, and scaling ways of working.
· Strong understanding of platform architecture, reliability engineering, deployment pipelines, and operational practices.
· Experience working closely with product, engineering, and operations to align roadmaps and priorities.
· Good commercial awareness, including budgeting, resourcing, and prioritisation trade‑offs.
· Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complexity and build consensus across stakeholders.
Bonus points if you have:
· Background in automotive, industrial systems, or distributed embedded platforms.
· Experience with cloud native infrastructure, observability tooling, or SRE practices.
· Prior experience scaling organisations through growth phases in high‑velocity environments.
